How can a Scrum team be most effective ?

To be effective a team needs to understand the values of Scrum and the Agile Manifesto principles. This helps the team get into an effective Agile mindset.

What are the 3 roles in Scrum ?

The 3 roles in Scrum are – Product Owner, Scrum Master and the Development team.

Can you describe how a Scrum project looks like ?

Every Scrum project is defined by a series of timeboxed events that always happen in the same order. Every Scrum project is organized into timeboxed iterations called Sprints which are usually one, two or four weeks long.

At the beginning of each Sprint the team gets together for a Sprint Planning session where they choose what items to include in the sprint.

The items for the Sprint are pulled off the Product Backlog and added to the Sprint Backlog.

Every day the team holds a Daily Scrum – a short meeting where each person gives an update on their progress, what they’ll work on next and any blockers they’ve hit.

When the Sprint is done, the team holds a meeting called a – Sprint Review where they meet with the users and give a demonstration of the working software they they’ve built.

The last meeting in the Sprint is to hold a Sprint Retrospective where the team talks about what happened well during the Sprint, what did not happen quite well and how do the team think they can improve their ways of working.

What role does the Product Owner play in a Scrum team ?

The Product Owner helps the team understand the users’ needs so they can build the most valuable product. The Product Owner forms the liaison between the end users and the development team and works with the team every day to help them understand the features in the Product Backlog. This helps the team build the most valuable software they can.
